AB RIPPER X

Hey Everyone!

I don’t know about you guys but the weather here yesterday was ridiculous!

Blowing snow, white out conditions and very unpredictable.  For that reason I decided to head home after work and skip the gym.

Don’t worry though – I did a short but intense workout at home.

AB RIPPER X!

Wowza!  I have done this many times in the past but always forget how insane it is!  I was burning from my shoulders to my knees!

The bf has been doing it fairly consistently for the past week or so and says that he is already noticing a difference!

Ab Ripper X might be the primary 2010 Focus for February!?

Do any of you use the P90X program?

As you know, I use the videos but don’t follow the entire program.

Even though I don’t follow the program completely, I find the videos a great addition to my exercise routine.

After 17 minutes of pure exhaustion I headed to the basement to do a VERY SHORT lifting session.

My entire workout lasted only 25 minutes, and I was TIRED!  Perhaps I will fit in a nice long cardio session tonight.  We shall see.

Hey Everyone!

When I was writing my Fitness T.V. post the other day I stumbled upon a free meal plan posted by The Last 10 Pounds Boot camp!  I guess I had never thought to look for a meal plan online before and just assumed that you would have to have one custom-made for you.  Although I’m sure a meal plan tailored to your personal health goals would have some benefits – nothing beats FREE!

Hey Everyone!

Hope you’re all having a great MONDAY!  I’m off of work today so mine is pretty good so far!

Yesterday I met a friend of mine at the gym at 9:00am.  We worked out together for 2 hours!  Time flies when you have a partner!  Check out my 2010 Focus Page for my workout stats!

The bf played hockey last night so I was on my own for dinner.  I was looking for something pretty quick, easy and healthy.  I grabbed a few ingredients from the pantry and this is what I came up with:

Spicy Tomato Chicken Wrap

What you need:

- Splash of Red Wine Vinegar

- Splash of Worcestershire Sauce

- Dash of Black Pepper

- 1/4 cup Canned Tomatoes

- 1 Green Onion

- A few Grape Tomatoes

- 2 leaves Romaine Lettuce

- 1 Chicken Breast

What you need to do is pretty simple!

- Chop up all veggies and add them to a wok with your vinegar. pepper and sauce.

- Defrost Chicken breast in the microwave then add to the wok.

- Heat until chicken is cooked through.

- Line plate with 2 leaves of romaine lettuce, top with mixture.

Thats it!  From start to finish this recipe took about 15 minutes!  Perfect!

On the agenda for today:

- Passport Office

- Costco

- Workout

“See” you later!

So, what did everyone think of The Biggest Loser last night?

The Red Team was my favourite but I’m not really a supporter of throwing weigh ins.

It may have been a smart game play, but in my opinion it completely defeats the purpose of being on the show.

It will be interesting to see if there is any mention of the outburst on the next episode.

I’ll have to wait and see how I feel about the Red Team after the next episode.

I hope that they turn it around, commit to making a lifestyle change and worry less about winning the money.

While on the topic….

I thought I would share with you a few other shows I pull inspiration and motivation from!

X-Weighted

X-Weighted is hosted by fitness professional, Paul Plakas.  Paul has some very interesting information on his personal website.  Check it out!

The Last 10 Pounds Bootcamp

I love both of these shows!

I find them truly inspirational and they’re great to watch while I struggle through an at home workout!

They’re Canadian and you can watch them online!

What more could you ask for?

Gym Time!

I can’t believe it….

I finally broke down and bought a gym membership!

Thankfully I was able to take over a friend’s corporate membership – at a cheaper rate than a normal membership.

I’m still paying $40/month but it’s better than $60 – which is ridiculous!

I keep reminding myself that it will be totally worth it if I keep going.  Over the past few months I have been paying a “drop in” rate of $10/visit and have gone at least a few times a week.  Therefore getting a membership makes sense.  In the long run I’ll be saving myself some money.

I do recommend checking out a gym on a drop in bases more than once or twice before you commit to a membership.  The last few months have really given me an idea of the environment, the people and the variety of equipment.  I was able to make a very informed decision without the pressure of a sales pitch.

The one great thing about this gym is that there are locations all over the country – so no matter where I go I won’t have any excuses!

Breakfast for Dinner!

I don’t know why but for the past two days I have craved eggs for dinner.

Last night I had an open-faced Whole Wheat English Muffin and two Eggs.

Then tonight I had an English Muffin with an egg and prosciutto!  So GOOD!

Both dinners were followed by a Magic Bullet smoothie of the Strawberry-Banana variety:

A Banana

A few Strawberries

A splash of Soy Milk

A splash of Orange Juice

and there you have it – the PERFECT ending to a perfect meal.

(No matter what time of day it is.)

I’m super pumped!

Why?

Because it’s Tuesday!

And what is Tuesday you ask?

Did any of you catch it last week?  Do you have favourites yet?

I’m still undecided.

Take a look through the pictures to see the most delicious fajita from start to finish!

Not the healthiest – but you’ll notice that I cut out sour cream and used humus instead!  That has to help a little bit – no?

Seriously YUMMY!

Take a peek.  While you’re at it, I updated my 2010 Focus page with my last few days of exercise!

My “Where do you blog” post will have to wait for another day – I’m a little annoyed with wordpress right now.

Have a good night everyone!
